Skirmish

(Down-On-Their-Luck Scenario)

Skirmish Scenario

- This scenario is from the Mordheim rulebook, with slight modifications.

Warbands are either searching the area for wyrdstone and supplies, or just passing through and stumble across each other. Warriors being warriors, they are easily provoked to violence especially when having a bad week. A disagreeable stare, an offensive word or lewd gesture and soon warbands find themselves at each other’s throats.

What You Need For The Game

Settlements

None.

There is no direct reward for winning the game, but as fate would have it, the chapter’s Loyalty Symbol will be found by the lucky warband who can discover and/or steal it. The campaign administrator should remove the symbol from the campaign scenario in which it appears this turn.

Reward

Terrain

The type of terrain, urban or rural, is already determined. Set up the terrain normally.

Deployment

Deploy warbands normally.

After deployment place random fortune markers normally. If you are playing the scenario during campaign turns 1-9 roll a D66 on the Random Fortune Table when determining random fortune discoveries. If you are playing campaign turn 10+ roll a D100.

Random Fortune

Wow, look at this!: The first successful Random Fortune Discovery made by any warrior will be the loyalty symbol for the campaign turn (do not roll on the random fortune table). Should no discoveries be made, the last random fortune marker on the table will automatically be the loyalty symbol (no discovery roll needed). Note, if the loyalty symbol is not discovered before the game ends, it is forever lost.
